At Coughton CofE Primary School, we value Physical Education. WE ARE ATHLETES! A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

This year (2021), we have the pleasure of working alongside Aston Villa Foundation. The coaches support teachers plan and implement lessons that bring to life the PE Programme of Studies for Key Stages 1 and 2 from the National Curriculum. They will also offer extra-curricular provision, which provides opportunities for children to participate in fun and engaging sessions. A range of sports are offered and delivered, with a primary focus of football and invasion-based games.
